Frequently asked questions
Does Image Saver upload my images?
Not to an Image Saver-owned service. Conversion and editing run in the extension. The selected source website may still receive a normal request when Chrome or Image Saver needs the image bytes.
Do I need an account?
No. The current extension candidate has no account or sign-in. Preferences and recipes stay in local extension storage.
Does it work on every website?
No. Restricted Chrome pages, inaccessible frames, expired blobs, protected media, tainted canvas, and authenticated requests can prevent access. Image Saver explains supported limits and fallbacks.
Which formats can it create?
PNG, JPG, WebP, one-frame static GIF, alpha-preserving BMP, and a PNG-backed single-size ICO. It can also keep a supported source as Original. There is no TIFF or AVIF encoder.
Can I save several images?
Yes, within documented safety and memory limits. Studio can save selected files separately or build a local ZIP when those sources can be safely materialized.
